OPPO has officially announced R17 and R17 Pro, the company's latest flagships in the "R series" family. The phones featured nearly identical specs but differs in some key areas. The most prominent thing about the device are their cameras and the introduction of Corning's new Gorilla Glass 6 protective glass.
The R17 sports 16MP+5MP dual camera at back—the primary having an f/1.8 aperture, while the secondary camera is made to capture the depth of field for portrait shot. The R17 Pro on the other hand, packed 12MP+20MP dual rear camera, the primary having a variable aperture that hovers between f/1.5 and f/2.4 aperture depending on ambient light, while the secondary camera has an f/2.6 aperture.

The R17 Pro also have a 3D sensing camera in addition that let users take 3D photo, which unfortunately the R17 lacked. Apart from their camera difference, the R17 and R17 Pro are further separated by the processor that powered them. The former is powered by a Snapdragon 670 chipset, while the later packed a Snapdragon 710 chipset.
Furthermore, the R17 comes with a 3500mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge, while the R17 Pro draw its power from a larger 3700mAh battery with supports for Super VOOC Flash Charge that can charge the phone from 0% to 40% within 10 minutes. The phones features 6.4-inch 19:9 Full HD+ display; sports 25MP AI front cameras, and runs Android 8.1 Oreo based Color OS 5.2. These also have in-display fingerprint sensors and gradient reflective glass back.

The 6GB RAM model of the R17 is priced at CNY 3199 ($465), while the 8GB RAM model costs CNY 3499 ($509). The R17 Pro is priced at CNY 4299 ($624). The R17 is available for order on popular stores (JD, Suning e.t.c) in China and will go on sale on August 30th. The R17 Pro is expected to be available sometime in October.
